Weekend with the Bartons/Workmans

We had so much fun at Ashley and Eric's house last weekend. Layla LOVES playing with Grayden and giving kisses to her little cousin Addelyn. The kids all adore each other...it is just the sweetest thing to watch. This was a very special weekend for Addelyn because she was baptized! What a busy weekend but so much fun!

A day at the park

Layla had so much fun playing at the park on evening with Grandma, Uncle Brock and Aunt Jessie. She is SUCH a dare devil and loves the thrill of flying high in the swing or hanging by her hood on the slide (LOL MOM). Here are some of our favorite pics!

Opps! Before I post the park pictures I wanted to share pictures of Layla's first "boo boo". She was wearing sandals and tripped outside on the concrete. She scrapped her knee pretty bad but surprisingly  there weren't many tears. Girl is tougher than her mother...that's for sure! ;o)
Close up of the boo boo. Poor baby!
Ok now the park pics. Here is Layla running to Grandma through the tunnel.
Wants to go down the big slide
So Uncle Brock and Aunt Jessie tag teamed it. Here we go...
 Weeeeeeeeeee

 Layla loves to swing!
She was so relaxed just swinging away!

Gone fishing

My Grandpa decided to take Layla on her first fishing adventure while we were home. Fish scare me (I know I know...) but I don't what Layla to be scared so I sucked it up. We really had so much fun. Layla caught 9 fish! I couldn't believe it...it was one right after the other. As Aunt Jessie says, Grandpa is the "Fish Whisper". LOL.

Oh if only Daddy would have been there...this spot was a bit dangerous so we decided to move to the bridge.
But not before we got this adorable pictures (good job Grandma!)
Layla's first fish! I should mention that she did touch it but didn't really like it. Grandpa kissed it though. LOL
Watching the bobber and getting excited!
 She had SO much fun!
At this point Grandpa was jumping around and giggling. It doesn't matter if it was the first or the 9th fish...Grandpa giggles like a little kid every time.
All that fishing was tiring, here is Layla enjoying her first drink from a fountain. She liked it!
Thank you for taking me fishing Grandma and Paw Paw! We love you!

Congrats Dr. Barton!

We have been waiting for this moment longer than anything in our lives. When I met Bryan I was 15 and I couldn't have really guessed our future except for one thing...he was going to be a doctor. Everything in both our lives has revolved around one event, Bryan graduating with his PhD. High school graduations, getting engaged, college graduations, getting married, starting new jobs and having Layla...all steps towards this or planned around this one event. Honestly, if the weekend wouldn't have been such a whirlwind of family and parties I probably wouldn't have been able to keep it together. Thank God we have this move to focus on because I guarantee it won't hit either of us until we are settled in the new house.

For the very first time in our lives I have no idea what the plan is. Bryan has a great job, we are having a blast with Layla and in 3 days we will have our first "real" house. We are SO blessed but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared to death. Who knows what will happen from here but one thing is for sure...we have never been happier. ;o) Layla and I love you SO much BB, I've never been so proud of someone in my entire life and we are so lucky to have you.

Because Bryan had to leave right after graduation on Sunday, we had his party on Saturday. Thanks so much to everyone that came to celebrate!

This is what getting a picture of all three kids looks like. Nightmare!
 So proud of Daddy!

A visit to Dow Gardens

We only got to enjoy Dow Gardens a few times before it got cold last year. We've been a couple of times this year so far and this time I got some fun pictures of Layla. Put on a jacket and jump in the car, it is nice outside kind of days. You can tell because I obviously didn't coordinate Layla's outfit or even brush her hair (not that brushing it helps lol).

Part of Layla's therapy is to get out and enjoy the outdoors. She's making a ton of progress when it comes to grass in the last few weeks but when we were at the park...she wasn't really feeling it.
 The tulips were so pretty!
Layla climbing the stairs like a big girl. This made Daddy extremely nervous...I had to crop him out of the picture. LOL
 She made it!
Layla's new shoes. Hard to see in this picture but they are sparkly. I can't believe she is in a size 6!
I love her expression in this picture. Such a free spirit.
The trees were also blooming and so pretty!
Putting sunscreen on Layla is like trying to shave a cat. Here is Daddy getting his workout for the day. :)
So I confess that I was so caught up in trying to get this picture that Layla almost slide right under the rail on this bridge! This is in the kiddy part so she wouldn't have gone far, but she would have gotten wet. Daddy said it was time to go. LOL
This part is fenced in so Daddy thought she'd be safe. Nothing but tulips here!
